Starting Five / Research

VISIBLE REACTION.
OPEN QUESTION.

What can you actually influence when the CPU is defending?

RESEARCH IN PROGRESS · CAUSALITY NOT ESTABLISHED

Separate what happens
from why it happens.

Reported observation

Player reports suggest that L2/LT input may coincide with changes in non-selected CPU defenders’ behaviour. The reports are a starting point, not a verified causal finding.

Working hypothesis

The input could influence the reaction directly, change the situation indirectly, or have no independent effect. Matchups, positioning, settings and timing can also explain a reaction.

What remains unknown

Whether the response is repeatable under matched conditions, which inputs matter and how broadly a finding would apply.

A useful test needs a comparison.

Record the patch, mode, matchup, settings, positioning and input timing. Compare matched attempts with and without the input. Vary one condition, keep failed attempts and test alternative explanations.

This is an investigation method, not a secret mechanic exposed. No paid CPU-control result is being offered.

Keep the next step grounded.
