Is $79 worth it if I can watch videos for free?
Videos give general advice. The audit looks at your build, your settings and your pattern, and ends with a test plan for you. If general advice had solved it, you wouldn't be here.
Do I need a clip before requesting?
No. Start with your email and the problem. Up to three relevant clips or screenshots may be useful afterwards, depending on the question.
